EPA to Grant Hazardous Waste Exclusion To Exxon Mobil Refinery in Baytown, Texas

The Environmental Protection Agency intends to grant Exxon Mobil Corp. a petition filed to exclude underflow water generated at its refinery in Bay-town, Texas, from the agency's list of hazardous wastes. EPA plans to grant the petition filed by Exxon Mobil in August 2010 after concluding the company's management of the underflow water minimizes short- and long-term threats to human health and the environment, according to a June 19 notice (77 Fed. Reg. 36,447).
