Energy Department to Complete Cleanup Of Most Dangerous Tanks at Savannah River

The Energy Department announced March 29 a decision to complete the cleanup and closure in 2012 of two tanks that previously were filled with liquid radioactive waste at the Savannah River Site in Aiken County, S.C. The department said in a statement it will close Tanks 18 and 19, the two tanks that pose the greatest risk to the environment. The tanks are located on the F Farm at Savannah River.
