EPA Final Rule Allows New Calculation For Reporting Nonreactive Solids in Solution

A Environmental Protection Agency final rule published March 22 revises the way calculations are performed to determine if a hazardous nonreactive solid chemical in solution stored on a facility is required to be reported to the state or another agency (76 Fed. Reg. 16,679). Entities affected by the final rule include facilities and organizations subject to section 302 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act and its implementing regulations found in 40 C.F.R. part 355, subpart B-Emergency Planning, EPA said. The rule will take effect April 23.
