Group Challenges Cattrans Approval of Plan To Expand Interstate 5 in San Diego County

The Cleveland National Forest Foundation is challenging the approval by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) of the Interstate 5 expansion in San Diego County, saying it violates the California Environmental Quality Act (Cleveland Nat'l For-estv. Cal. Dep'tofTransp., Cal. Super. Ct., No. 37-2103-00078391, 12/04/13). Filed Dec. 4 in the Superior Court for the County of San Diego, the complaint seeks a court order vacating the Oct. 31 approval by Caltrans of the North Coast Corridor Project as well as its Oct. 23 certification of the corresponding final environmental impact report (FEIR).
