Transportation Program Success Bodes Well For New Water Infrastructure Loan Program

Bipartisan support for a successful federal loan program that would fund large transportation projects may bode well for inclusion of a similar program in the final water resources development conference report. Conferees began meeting Nov. 20 to try to reconcile differences between the House and Senate versions of the water resources legislation, which authorizes U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects dealing with flood control, port maintenance and environmental restoration.
