House Approves Bill Authorizing Water Infrastructure Projects, Streamlined Reviews

The House passed the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013 (H.R. 3080) on a 417-3 vote Oct. 23 to authorize water infrastructure projects and streamline environmental reviews. The bill next will go to a conference to be reconciled with the Senate-passed Water Resources Development Act of 2013 (S. 601). The House bill would authorize construction and maintenance work of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on dams, locks, levees, harbors, river channels, canals, flood-control measures and other projects supporting commerce.
