Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz told an independent advisory board the "quickened pace" of proposed and final Energy Department regulations for energy efficiency will continue for "quite a period," as other agency officials said the White House Office of Management and Budget appeared more dedicated to moving the rulemakings quickly through the regulatory review process. Speaking Sept. 13 before the group of scientists, business executives, academics and former government officials who make up the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board, Moniz said the Energy Department "probably has never had a higher profile" and continues to work diligently on implementing President Obama's national plan for addressing climate change.
