EPA, Other Agencies to Develop Plans To Implement U.S.-China Climate Initiatives

China Climate Change Working Group has asked specific agencies and programs in both countries to develop implementation plans for carrying out five initiatives announced July 10 at a high-level meeting between the two nations. The five initiatives were outlined in a report issued by the working group during the fifth meeting of the U.S.China Strategic and Economic Dialogue (44 ER 2056, 7/12/13). The report also named the agencies in both countries that would be involved in the initiatives. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and eight other agencies should develop the plans by October for the joint efforts to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, the repnrt said.
