The Environmental Protection Agency is unlikely to address methane emissions from natural gas wells until after it completes its overdue carbon dioxide performance standards for new power plants, a representative of a state air pollution association said April 23. Amy Royden-Bloom, senior staff associate at the National Association of Clean Air Agencies, also said that while some states such as Colorado and Wyoming have already moved to regulate natural gas exploration, state air pollution regulators already face an "overwhelming work load."
