Sierra Club Asks Appeals Court to Stay Rule Delaying Compliance With Cement Kiln Limits

Environmental groups asked a federal appeals court April 17 to stay an Environmental Protection Agency rule that delays compliance with emissions limits for cement kilns (Sierra Club v. EPA, D.C. Cir., No. 13-1112, motion filed 4/17/13). The Sierra Club and eight other groups told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that EPA violated the Clean Air Act in extending the compliance date to Sept. 9, 2015, from Sept. 9, 2013.
