The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee has scheduled a confirmation hearing April 11 on the nomination of Gina McCarthy to be Environmental Protection Agency administrator.McCarthy, who currently serves as EPA assistant administrator for air and radiation, is widely expected to be confirmed. But Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), the committee's ranking member, is among Republicans who are likely to question her on issues ranging from a recent proposal to tighten limits on sulfur in gasoline to concerns about agency transparency.
