TVA Agrees to Pay $27 Million to Settle Lawsuits Over Kingston Coal Ash Spill

Brooks told Bloomberg BNA that TVA previously had settled claims involving approximately 200 other property owners affected by the December 2008 spill of some 5.4 million cubic yards of coal ash from an impoundment pound at the utility's Kingston facility. The new settlement agreement now resolves all such claims, he said.
