摘要

A federal interagency group examining how to improve chemical safety and security intends to submit its recommendations on time to President Barack Obama by the end of May, the Department of Homeland Security told Bloomberg BNA. The group has given no indication of what recommendations it might make, and multiple industry groups have told Bloomberg BNA there have been no informal leaks of information from the working group. Obama established the Chemical Facility Safety and Security Working Group in August 2013 under Executive Order 13,650 in response to the explosion of a fertilizer distributor in West, Texas. The lead agencies at the group are the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Homeland Security and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
