摘要

Christiana Figueres, the United Nations' top climate change official, called for "substantial pledges" from rich countries to help the developing world adapt to climate change. With a battle looming over levels of national commitment as the UN seeks to hammer out terms for a global 2020 agreement on climate change, poor countries have said that developed countries should do more through contributions, including those to the Green Climate Fund, established in 2009 with the goal of providing $100 billion a year by 2020 to help developing countries adapt to climate change.
