摘要

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy said May 2 the upcoming proposed Clean Air Act rule that would limit carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants would help the nation "regain its international stature." The agency will be able to engage the international community in making similar reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, McCarthy said at an annual National Wildlife Federation meeting in Baltimore. The proposed rule, she said, will reflect states' concerns that energy supplies remain robust and affordable while ratcheting down emissions most harmful to people and wildlife.
