摘要

The chairman of the Chemical Safety Board and Democratic senators endorsed the use of inherently safer technologies at chemical facilities to enhance safety and security. Mathy Stanislaus, the Environmental Protection Agency's top waste official and co-chairman of an inter-agency working group tasked with improving chemical safety and security, acknowledged at a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing March 6 that inherently safer technologies reduce risk. He said the working group had presented industry and environmental representatives with a list of options for implementing them, asking for their feedback.
