摘要

An estimated 87 facilities in Southern California could face stricter requirements for emitting toxic air contaminants under rules the South Coast Air Quality Management District has updated to reflect the state's new risk assessment guidelines for air toxic hot spots. Approved June 5 by the SCAQMD governing board, the revised rules could cost businesses as much as $1.9 million a year to complete new health risk assessments, notify the public of potential exposure risks and cut emissions enough to reduce harm to children and other vulnerable populations.
