House Democrat Seeks Supplemental Rule From EPA to Clarify Water Act Jurisdiction

The Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers should issue a supplemental rule to address concerns in the proposed waters of the U.S. rule, the ranking Democrat on the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry said March 17. Witte said agreeing to issue a supplemental rule would allow the EPA and the Army Corps to incorporate some of the really "dynamite and fantastic comments" they have received in the nearly year-long process, specifically concerns over clarity and jurisdic-tional limits.
