Biodiesel Credit Scam Yields Prison Terms, $46 Million Forfeiture Order for Florida Men

A biodiesel credit scam yielded prison sentences of more than 10 years each for two Florida men, who also face orders to forfeit $46 million, the Department of Justice announced (United States v. Davanzo, M.D. Fla., No. 2:15-cr-00141, sentencing 11/7/16). Judge Sheri Polster Chappell sentenced the defendants, Thomas Davanzo and Robert Fedyna, who previously entered guilty pleas in the case, on Nov. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Davanzo faces 10 years and one month, and Fedyna 11 years and three months in prison, and both must forfeit items including real estate, vehicles, luxury watches, thoroughbred horses, jewelry and gold coins, the DOJ said.
