摘要

A group of Exxon Mobil investors representing more than $1 billion in shares is asking the company to assess the financial risks of coming carbon restrictions. Limits on carbon emissions implemented in the wake of a landmark climate change deal reached by the world's governments in Paris in December "may significantly affect Exxon's operations," said New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, who co-filed a shareholder resolution on the subject with the Church of England and several other investors. "As shareholders, we want to know that Exxon is doing what is needed to prepare for a future with lower carbon emissions," DiNapoli, who manages the third largest public pension fund in the U.S., said in a statement Jan. 19.
