House Votes to Rescind Land Planning Rule On Fears of Local Economic Harms in West

The House took an ax to a set of regulations involving federal land management and voted Feb. 7 to rescind the rules implemented near the end of the Obama administration. Lawmakers said the Bureau of Land Management regulations, known as the Planning 2.0 rule, could undermine the influence of local officials and citizens and harm local economies in the West. They voted 234-187 to nullify them using the Congressional Review Act.
