Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) vetoed Dec. 27 a bill that would have extended the state's current two-year freeze on the state's renewable energy plan by making requirements for 2017-2018 into voluntary goals, before resuming as requirements beginning in 2019. The bill, a senate substitute for HB 554, had passed the State House Dec. 8 by a vote of 56 to 34, and the Senate the same day by a vote of 18 to 13.
