The Biden administration will look to the Obama administration as a blueprint to accelerate wind and solar power development on public lands-but it also may have to borrow someTrump administration policies on environmental impact reviews, trade groups and former Interior officials say.President Joe Biden signed an executive order Jan. 27 calling for the Interior Department to review its permitting process for renewables projects on federal lands and waters aiming toboost clean energy production there. The Covid-19 relief bill signed into law in December also requires renewable energy production on federal lands to quintuple by 2025.
