Becton Dickinson, Sterigenics Face Ethylene Oxide Suits (1)

Becton Dickinson and Co., and Sterigenics US LLC were hit with suits by plaintiffs alleging their exposure to ethylene oxide, a chemical used to sterilize medical instruments, caused them to develop cancer. Two of the plaintiffs allege exposure to ethylene from the Sterigenics plant in Smyrna, Ga., while two others allege exposure from the Becton Dickinson/CR Bard Inc. facility in Covington, Ga.
