Bernhardt Extends Parks, Land Bureau Chiefs’ Appointments (1)

Interior Secretary David Bernhardt on Tuesday extended the appointments of the acting chiefs of the Bureau ofLand Management and National Park Service until June 5.Bernhardt’s order keeps William Perry Pendley in charge of the BLM and David Vela at the helm of NPS. Pendley,deputy director for the bureau’s policy and programs, has been serving as acting BLM director since July. Vela, thepark service’s deputy director for operations, has been heading the agency since October.
