Oil and gas companies would get faster environmental reviews in a large area of the Atlantic Ocean o easternCanada under a proposed rule change aimed at attracting more interest in the oshore area.Exploration programs would be exempt from a joint review panel under the federal Impact Assessment Act, andinstead adhere to a one-size-ts-all set of conditions that the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada has released forpublic comment until Thursday. Under the proposal, individual wells wouldn’t get a review, which means approvingthem would take less time.
