Let's hope last month's NfS didn't help in giving the kiss of death to WF's World With a Future event, due to take place at the Eden Project in March. There we were, singing its praises for daring to encourage business leaders to discuss the elephant in the room - namely, decoupling growth from environmental damage and finding new economic systems that better embrace sustainability - and the organisers were busy cancelling it. What was planned as a week-long get-together in sunny Cornwall transformed into a two-hour seminar in London like any other. It turns out that getting busy bosses out of their stuffy offices and into a more natural environment, to find some 'head space' and think outside the norm, is easier said than done. Maybe it's just a sign of the times.
