Follow the thing: credit. Response to 'Follow the thing: money'

Brett Christophers's paper "Follow the thing: money" offers a much needed engagement with money, at an important moment. As he suggests, the current financial crisis is in part about "money, its nature, and its social and geographical distribution. This fact in itself demands that the underlying economics and sociality of money's myriad movements be better attended to." With this objective in mind Christophers sets out (1) a manifesto for the defetishization of money and (2) an outline of how this is to be accomplished.
