Study Says Epa Drinking Water Arsenic Limits Not Protective Of Health

A recently released academic study on the impact of arsenic in drinking water says that EPA's drinking water standard for the toxic metalloid is not sufficiently stringent to protect against cardiovascular disease. "Drinking arsenic-contaminated water increases risk of cardiovascular disease,lung disease,hepatic disease,and cancer in millions of people worldwide," the report from the University of Pittsburgh says,even if the water meets EPA health protection standards.
