EPA Eyes GHG Reporting Rules For CO2 Sequestration, Drilling Sites

EPA is pursuing two key expansions for its first-time greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting registry, sending for White House review proposals to require GHG reporting from oil and gas operations and from underground injection of carbon dioxide (CO2).rnThe agency Dec. 14 sent a proposal to the White House Office of Management & Budget (OMB) to expand the scope of its registry to include onshore oil and gas facilities. EPA will propose to require sources above certain thresh-rnolds to report fugitive and vented emissions of CO2 and methane from transmission, compression, distribution and other sources.
