Senior administration officials are strongly reiterating the case for Congress to ratify and implement two key international treaties on restricting hazardous chemicals, though passage of the necessary legislation - currently contained in bills reforming EPA's chemical safety program-is stalled.rnSpeaking at a Sept. 23 briefing sponsored by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Dan Reifsnyder, of the State Department, said passage of the necessary legislation "could be a bipartisan win" and noted that the treaties are already on the priority list for Senate ratification.
