EPA Launches Rulemakings To Cut Air Toxics From Multiple Sectors

EPA's Office of Air & Radiation is launching a number of new rulemakings to reduce air toxics emissions from a host of major industries, including aluminum, chemical, pulp and paper, lead and other sectors, while starting the process of reviewing its recently tightened lead ambient air quality standard.rnEPA outlines the new rulemakings in its June Action Initiation List, an update of just-launched regulatory efforts at the agency. According to the list issued July 8, EPA plans to launch residual risk and technology reviews to determine what additional emission control requirements are needed eight years after the agency has implemented an air toxics rule for a specific sector.
