摘要

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is raising early concerns that EPA plans to expand its solid waste-measurement efforts to include industrial and construction wastes could eventually drive new regulations for those waste streams. NAM believes there is "always the potential that this could lead to new burdensome regulations," says an industry source. The organization is also engaged in a "No New Regs" campaign against what it calls EPA's overregulation. "The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) aggressive regulatory agenda threatens economic growth and jobs," the organization says on its website. The campaign is intended to put pressure on Congress to "pursue a national energy policy that protects the environment and increases access to affordable domestic energy."
