Gas Sector Targets EVs In Bid To Boost Share Of EPA's Vehicle GHG Credits

Major segments of the natural gas industry are charging that the greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction benefits of natural gas vehicles (NGVs) outweigh those of electric-powered passenger vehicles (EVs), and deserve more incentives than EVs when EPA finalizes its rule on 2017-2025 fuel economy and GHG vehicle standards. The gas industry's calls, contained in Feb. 13 comments to EPA, were filed jointly by the American Gas Association (AGA), representing local distribution companies, and America's Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA), representing the largest independent producers of natural gas in the United States.
