Region V Strengthens Audits Of State UIC Permitting, Creating EPA Model

EPA Region V is strengthening its auditing of state underground injection control (UIC) permit programs to consider more well-specific data, creating a potential model for how the agency reviews state permitting for underground disposal of drilling and other wastewater, hazardous and radioactive waste, captured carbon and other waste streams.
