Security-Hardened Platforms Help to Protect Enterprise Assets

There is an acute need for better computer security solutions that will protect networked assets more effectively. Attacks from hackers, viruses and worms already cost the worldwide business community billions of dollars annually in lost capability and cleanup costs, and the frequency and sophistication of the attacks continues to increase. Several key factors are contributing to these security concerns. One is the rapid proliferation of PCs and other con- nected client devices, including laptops, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and smart phones. Adding to this is the worldwide availability and affordability of Internet access, and the increasing value of business transactions performed over the Internet.
