Melbourne continues tramway expansion

Two new tramway extensions are being built in Melbourne, adding to the city's already large network of 245 route kilometres. A $7.5 million, 1km long double track line will be built in the Docklands redevelopment area. The latest in a spate of short tramway extensions into the area from the adjacent central business district, it will traverse Harbour Esplanade north from a new triangular junction at the intersection of La Trobe Street and Harbour Esplanade to Dudley Street, then west along Docklands Drive to Sudholtz Street.
