摘要

Prototype laptop computers from the US-based One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project are being tested in Australia as part of an international collaboration to test the machines. The laptops, which are designed for children in developing countries and are powered kinetically by pulling a cord on the side of the case, were obtained by Rangan Srikhanta, treasurer of the United Nations Association of NSW. Alex Gibson, a technical officer at the University of Technology Sydneyrn(UTS) received two of the laptops to perform bug testing and James Cameron, a software engineer, is conducting rural range and mesh testing for six more units in central NSW.
