Aregional leadership seminar in Dubbo, NSW, in August, organised by Engineers Australia's Centre for Engineering Leadership and Management (CELM), attracted 68 people to the technical presentation and dinner and 80 people to the seminar on the following day. The seminar was a pilot event to gauge the response from engineers and other professionals living in regional areas. The dinner was supported by engineering entities based in the Dubbo-Orange region. Stewart McLeod, chair of the Engineers Australia Dubbo Country Group, said without the support of engineering consultant Barnson, Dubbo City Council and GHD the dinner would have not attracted such a wide range of professionals. Having national president Julie Hammer attend was an added bonus, he said.
