Car component makers in Hall of Fame

There were five automotive component makers among the 11 manufacturing companies inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame this year. "This was no surprise considering Victoria's automotive industry is Australia's largest, employing more than 37,000 people and generating around $3 billion a year in exports," Victorian industry minister Theo Theophanous said at the ceremony last month. The Hall of Fame, established in 2001, recognises excellence in manufacturing and the importance of the industry to the state. The companies inducted this year also included aviation, design, textile, plastics and scientific products manufacturers. They were Aerostaff Australia, Aisin Australia, Armstrong World Industries, Basell Australia, Ecotech, FMP Croup, Hilton Manufacturing, Injectronics Australia, Lumen Australia, SGE Analytical Science and Schiavello Group of Companies.
