Fire Fighting Technologies is introducing the Forest Fire Finder automated bushfire detection system to Australia.rnDeveloped in Portugal, the system uses optical spectrometry and a smoke detection algorithm to carry out a chemical analysis of the atmosphere.rnThe unit takes 11 minutes to rotate 360°, detecting fires up to 15km away. Multiple units working together can reduce detection time to five minutes. The system can draw power from a solar panel and operate around the clock.
