New chip unveiled

After four years of research, National Information and Communications Technology Australia (NICTA) recently unveiled a prototype system using its 60Ghz gigabit wireless (GiFi) chip technology at a public demonstration in Melbourne.rnThe demonstration was run by project leader Professor Stan Skafidas and followed the launch of a research and development grants program by the Victorian government.
