Tasmania Alumni Invited To Anniversary

Engineering at the University of Tasmania, Australia's fourth oldest university, is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. 2009 also marks the 50th anniversary of the move from the Hobart Domain to the Sandy Bay Campus. To celebrate these events the School of Engineering has commissioned renown Tasmanian artist Tom Samek, painter of the humorous and quirky mechanical brain mural in the Engineering Building Foyer, to produce a new 3D artwork that commemorates famous engineers and engineering scientists in a unique letter mosaic mural. Graduates are being asked to provide appropriate names for the mosaic. Celebrations will culminate in a grand unveiling on Friday 4 September and all former graduates of engineering from the university are invited to participate.
