A section of the Mannus Lake Dam near the town of Tumbarumba in southern NSW collapsed during heavy floods on 15 October. A section of the dam wall measuring 70-80m long and around 50m wide, about a half the length of the dam wall, was lost. The dam wall eroded gradually over several hours.rnResidents in around 90 properties in the district were evacuated and there were no deaths. On 16 October, the NSW State Emergency Services said it was safe for residents to return to their homes.
