Anew bulk liquids berth is to be built at Port Botany. A contract to construct the berth was awarded in June to John Holland by the Sydney Ports Corporation. The new berth, which is designed to accommodate vessels of up to 120,000 dead weight tonnes (the measure of how much weight a ship can safely carry) and a maximum length of 270m, is intended to facilitate the transport and handling of bulk liquids.
