NBN satellite plans set for 2015

Two Ka-band satellites are expected to bring internet to the 3% of homes, farms and businesses that reside in some of the most remote parts of Australia, according to NBN Co. The satellites, which are expected to service outback regions and external territories such as Norfolk Island, Christmas Island and the Cocos Islands, are being built by US-based broadband satellite manu facturer Space Systems/Loral, which was announced as the satellite contractor in February.
