Brisbane Container Terminal

Hutchison Port Holdings signed a 42-year lease agreement with the Queensland government in 2008 to develop a new container terminal on a 26ha site at the mouth of the Brisbane River. The first stage of the new terminal is now ready for business. A second berth is expected to be operational in 2014. When complete, the terminal will be capable of handling more than 800,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) a year, significantly increasing the port's current capacity.
