Ion traps and bent light at 2013 ANZCOP

A three-decade tradition of optics and photonics experts meeting in Australia and New Zealand is set to continue with the 2013 Australian and New Zealand Conference on Optics and Photonics (ANZCOP). Taking place in Fremantle in Western Australia from 8 to 11 December, the conference's goal is to bring scientists and engineers in optics and photonics together. In addition to speakers and presentations, there is an exhibition area for companies. The inaugural conference has four streams: 1. atom, quantum and nonlinear optics, as well as optical spectroscopy; 2. optical materials and devices, including lasers, meta-materials, plasmonics and nanophotonics; 3. optical sensors and imaging, including microscopy; 4. optical communications and photonic systems.
