In the last year, the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has partnered with Lockheed Martin to work on a train management system called Advanced Train Management System. The proof of concept phase was completed last year, and the ARTC recently received federal government funding for a further trial between Port Augusta and Tarcoola in South Australia. This trial is scheduled for later this year.
