Water service provision in remote communities

The Remote Area Essential Servicing Program (RAESP) is responsible for overcoming the challenge of delivering safe, reliable drinking water to some of the most isolated people in Western Australia. The team, on behalf of the Department of Housing, works across a vast area of WA to manage water and power services to contribute to the ongoing sustainability and resilience of 91 remote and geographically dispersed communities. The WA Department of Housing has delivered essential services through the RAESP since 1986 with the assistance of the Contracted State Program Manager (CSPM), a role undertaken by Parsons Brinckerhoff since 2005. The CSPM oversees three Regional Service Providers: the Kimberly Regional Service Providers, the Meta Maya Services and the Ngaanyatjarra Services, which are responsible for repairs and maintenance, and planned, preventative and emergency servicing of community infrastructure.
